Objective

Purpose of the Course Module

In the "Developing a Team Company" course module, you will learn how to develop new business ideas within your team. You will gain tools for practical experimentation with these ideas and learning from the experiments. This module prepares you to test ideas through project activities, evaluating the generated ideas from profitability and entrepreneurship perspectives.

Skills Acquired in the Course Module

Learning to Learn: You learn to analyze your and your team's ability to develop a business from an idea to practice. You set goals and metrics and learn to build a business together. You track your and your team's progress.

Learning in the Workplace: You engage in real-world projects with your team, gaining skills to develop your and your team's practices. You develop activities from a customer-centric perspective and learn important team skills.

Ethics: You act ethically in customer projects and within your team. Ethics is a vital value in business development. You act responsibly in your team, your community, and with customers.

Sustainable Development: You understand what sustainable business consists of and can take actions to build sustainable business. You develop theoretical knowledge and apply your skills in practice. You feel responsible for the development of your team and projects from a sustainability perspective. You are familiar with the principles of building a future-sustainable business.

Proactive Development: You can evaluate the operational environment, examine the impact of changes in the environment, and develop business with future planning in mind.

Learning Objectives of the Course Module

You learn to perform business development work in a team and use various methods for idea development. You learn to build and learn from practical experiments together with customers. You learn basic skills in business administration from budgeting to paying invoices. You understand the principles of a team company's operation and the core processes of future-sustainable business. You can share your expertise within the team. You learn to reflect on your development skills through writing and dialogue with the team. You are capable of taking responsibility for your own learning and actions.

Market and growth potential of an idea
Business plans, modeling, and conceptualization (Business Model Canvas)
Implementation of plans and evaluation of implementation in a team company
Basics of business financial management: goals, budgeting, monitoring, profitability calculation, and cooperation with accounting firms
Co-development within the team and with the team company's customers

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

You have sufficient evidence of understanding the theory related to the competency area and are able to apply the theory in practice in the projects and operations of the team enterprise. You understand the significance of different roles in the development of the company and develop the team enterprise in cooperation with others. You are able to create clear plans and set realistic goals from both an operational and skill development perspective. You have set concrete goals for the development of your competency area and have demonstrated the ability to direct your actions according to these goals.

You have implemented projects that reflect the application of competency area theory into practice. The projects demonstrate your ability to apply what you have learned and bring theoretical knowledge into practical action as part of a team. Additionally, you are able to evaluate the achievement of your goals and your learning process through reflections, identifying both your strengths and areas for improvement.
