Objective

The object of the course

The object of this course is to provide information on the comprehensive well-being of the student athlete and the factors that affect the sports career. In the course, you will learn to use the support services and structures available.
After completing the course, you will understand the factors related to the comprehensive well-being of a student athlete and know how to apply them in your own sports career. You know about the support services and structures available.

Learning to learn: Assesses and develops their competence and learning methods in different learning environments. Is able to acquire, critically assess and approximately apply the national and international knowledge base and practices of their field.

Learning objectives of the course

You know how to acquire and critically evaluate information about your own well-being and apply the knowledge base and practices in your own sports career. You can evaluate your own time management, loading and recovery. You know the special features of sports nutrition. You know the role of mental coaching in a sports career, and you know how to examine your qualities in relation to the topic. You know the effects of physiotherapy in the rehabilitation of injuries and their prevention. You know how to evaluate and develop your skills and learning methods both in your studies and in your sports career. You know about the support services and structures available.

Themes related to the student athlete's well-being, such as time management, load and recovery, nutrition, mental coaching and physiotherapy.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

You know how to evaluate your own skills and development needs as a student athlete. You control your use of time and understand the importance of overall well-being for yourself and you actively take responsibility for achieving your goals. You know how to monitor the load and recovery ratio and react to it if necessary. You understand the role of psychological coaching and physiotherapy in supporting your sports career.
