Objective

Purpose of the Course

In addition to application development, cloud services are used in support and maintenance tasks in the IT industry. Cloud services require maintenance and support, much like any other IT service. In this course, you will become familiar with support and maintenance tasks related to cloud services. You will expand your skills in command-line-based work with cloud services and be able to resolve potential issues with cloud services.

Course competences

- Information system competence: Is familiar with typical information systems and services and understands the importance of security in utilizing services.
- Application Development Competence: Is familiar with the technologies used in application development and recognizes the significance of different technologies and their relationships.
- ICT Specialization: Is able to apply one's knowledge and skills in a specific area of ICT and analyze, assess, and improve operations in that area.
- Learning to learn: Is able to acquire, critically assess and appropriately apply the national and international knowledge base and practices of their field.


Learning outcomes

You will gain an understanding of the practices related to the maintenance of cloud services and be able to perform maintenance, support, and operational tasks using command-line interfaces for various cloud services. You will acquire knowledge of maintenance-related activities for cloud services and be capable of troubleshooting potential issues with different cloud services.

Understanding Systems Operations, Tooling and Automation, Computing (Servers), Computing (Scaling and Name Resolution), Computing (Containers and Serverless), Computing (Database Services), Networking, Storage and Archiving, Monitoring and Security, Managing Resource Consumption, Automated and repeated deployments

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Required for a passing grade:

- You can install and configure a suitable cloud-based environment(s) through command-line-based tools.
- You can use the tools covered in the course.
- You have successfully completed the required assignments for the course.
