Objective

You will be familiar with the key areas of cybersecurity: the current state of cybersecurity, cybersecurity threats, terminology and information interaction. You will understand how these apply to personal, societal and organisational cyber security. You will be familiar with the security mechanisms used in the transmission of information in terms of reliability and availability, as well as the principles and implications of malware and vulnerabilities.

Content

Upon completion of this course, you will have mastered the key aspects of cybersecurity, such as the current state of cybersecurity, threats, terminology and information interference. You will understand how these apply to personal, societal and organisational cyber security. You will be familiar with the security mechanisms used in information transfer, related to trustworthiness and availability, as well as the principles and implications of malware and vulnerabilities. The course will equip you to analyse cybersecurity threats and apply what you learn in practice and theory, identifying and protecting against potential risks.

To complete the course, you must pass the course assignments by the due date. Upon successful completion of the course, you will be able to demonstrate your understanding of the key concepts and objectives of information security.
