Objective of the course:
You learn the structure, protocols and design principles of data networks used in data centers.

Learning outcome of the course
You know the protocols and principles of data transfer in data centers. You are able to design a data center using switches and servers. You know the connections of data centers with the backbone network.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Sufficient 1: The student knows the theory of data center networks passably and recognizes some parts in existing data center networks. The student is able to design and implement parts of a small data center network based on requirement specification.
Satisfactory 2: The student knows the theory of data center networks sufficiently and recognizes some parts in existing data center networks. The student is able to design and implement parts of a small data center network based on requirement specification.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
Good 3: The student masters the theory of data center networks well and recognizes parts of existing data center networks. The student is able to design and implement parts of a data center network based on requirement specification.
Very good 4: The student has a very good command of the theory of data center networks and recognizes parts of existing data center networks. The student is able to design and implement parts of data center network based on requirement specification.

Excellent 5: The student has an excellent command of the theory of data center networks and recognizes comprehensively parts of existing data center networks. The student is able to design and implement an extensive data center network based on requirement specification.
