Kehittyvien energiajärjestelmien parissa työskentelevät yritykset tarvitsevat osaajia vastuullisiin ja merkittäviin työtehtäviin. Ilmastonmuutoksen hillitseminen, vihreä siirtymä sekä prosessien ympäristövaikutusten hallinta edellyttävät monipuolista luonnontieteellistä ja teknisten ratkaisujen osaamista.

Energia- ja ympäristötekniikan tutkinnon suoritettuasi sinulla on vahva ja monipuolinen luonnontieteellinen, prosessi-, energia- sekä sähkö- ja automaatiotekninen osaaminen, jota osaat soveltaa energia- ja ympäristöteknisissä ratkaisuissa. Tunnet energiantuotannon ja -jakelun sekä teollisuuden ja kiinteistöjen teknisten prosessien toiminnan. Osaat arvioida, analysoida, suunnitella ja kehittää prosesseja ja monialaisia kokonaisuuksia huomioiden ratkaisujen koko elinkaarenaikaisen energia- ja resurssitehokkuuden.

Opintojesi keskeisiä aihealueita ovat energiantuotanto ja uusiutuvat energiaratkaisut, prosessi-, sähkö- ja automaatiotekniikka, resurssitehokkuus ja kiertotalous, ympäristövaikutukset ja niiden hallinta sekä kokonaisvaltainen energiatehokkuus.

Kaikille yhteisten opintojen ohella voit suuntautua kiinteistöjen energiatehokkuuden kehittämiseen tai energiantuotannon osaamisen syventämiseen. Lisäksi voit täydentää opintojasi biojalostuksen ja kunnossapidon osaamiskokonaisuuksilla.

Valmistuttuasi sinulla on valmiudet toimia energia- ja ympäristötekniikkaa soveltavissa tehtävissä prosessien kehittämisessä, tuotekehityksessä sekä asiantuntijatehtävissä.  Tyypillisesti tällaisia tehtäviä on prosessi- ja teknologiateollisuuden sekä energiantuotannon, -jakelun ja -myynnin yrityksissä. Koulutus antaa sinulle myös hyvät valmiudet toimia kiinteistöjen tai teollisuuden energiatehokkuuteen liittyvissä kehitystehtävissä, suunnittelu- ja konsulttitoimistoissa sekä tutkimusorganisaatioissa.
