Objective

The course introduces key process devices and their selection and application. After attending the course, you will understand the role of different process equipment and the differences and their utilization in equipment selection. You know how to take process safety into account and understand its importance in planning. You will be able to draw a PI diagram to match the practical process. You recognize the basis for dimensioning processes and take into account the requirements of sustainable development in dimensioning.

MULTIDISCIPLINARY COMPETENCE
You will be able to comprehensively understand various process engineering solutions and understand the factors affecting their safety and cost-effectiveness. You will have a better understanding of the limitations that processes impose on process design and various equipment choices.

APPLICATION OF ENGINEERING TO PRACTICE
You will learn about various technical applications and be better equipped to identify practical problems and challenges in different production processes. The course will provide you with fundamental knowledge that you can use when selecting equipment or equipment systems for various processes during the design phase.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
Upon completing the course, you will understand the roles of different process equipment, their differences, and their utilization in equipment selection. You will be able to consider process safety and understand its significance in design. You can create a P&ID diagram to represent a practical process. You will identify the criteria for process sizing and take sustainability requirements into account during the sizing process.

Qualifications

Tecnical drawing and CAD
Basics of matematics and fysics

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Avoidant (1): You recognize the basics and terminology, but have significant gaps in interpreting key issues. You can copy the diagram and understand that it consists of sub-processes.

Satisfactory (2): You know the basics and the terminology, but you are lacking in the application of key issues. You understand that the overall process consists of sub-processes and the importance of automation in process adjustments

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good (3): You know the key points of the course and apply them independently when creating process diagrams. You know the standards for diagram drawing and you know how to make justified choices when preparing process diagrams and necessary lists. You understand the starting points of dimensioning and the operation of control circuits. You know the importance of project scheduling and title management in planning
Commendable (4): You master the key issues of process technology and know how to apply them and justify your choice. The diagrams you make in the course are clear and easy to read. You visualize material flows, unit processes and hardware solutions and the dependencies between them well

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

You master the key issues of process technology and apply them to create typical new solutions, and you are able to dimension the selected components and justify your choice
