Objective

Industrial Business is a Bachelor's level elective course.
The main objective of the course is to give you an overview of international business management concepts and practices.

Knowledge and understanding:
The learning process enable you to demonstrate the knowledge and understanding of mathematics and other basic sciences underlying their engineering specialisation, at a level necessary to achieve the other programme learning outcomes.

Investigations and information retrieval:
You have ability to conduct searches of literature, to consult and to critically use scientific databases and other appropriate sources of information, and to carry out simulation and analysis, in order to pursue detailed investigations and research of technical issues

Communication and team-working:
You have ability to ability to function effectively in a national and an international context as an individual and as a member of a team.

Content

During the course you will explore the cultural, political and technological environment in which multinational companies (MNCs) operate across national boundaries. A special attention will be given to some of the current issues in international business, including the issues of sustainable development, emerging markets, impact of globalization and corporate social responsibility. Throughout the course you will be exposed to comparative analysis of practices among MNCs from different countries.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Student takes part in all lectures, team work, company visits and has presentations. Student also does two exams.
