Objective

You master the software and hardware engineering and operation of large and complex PLC-based automation systems. You can solve problems of PLC-based automation systems both independently and in a group.

EUR-ACE ENGINEERING PRACTICE
You are able to implement control applications using programmable logic and process control systems. You are able to select and use appropriate equipment, tools and methods. You are able to combine theory and practice to solve engineering problems in PLC projects. You have an understanding of applicable techniques and methods and of their limitations.

EUR-ACE COMMUNICATION AND TEAM-WORKING
You have ability to communicate effectively information, ideas, problems and solutions with the engineering community in a national and an international context. You have ability to function effectively as an individual and as a member of a team and as an entrepreneurship.

Content

In this course, you will master the application and hardware design, as well as the use of large and complex PLC-based automation systems. You will learn to solve problems in PLC-based automation systems both independently and in teams. You will be able to implement control systems based on programmable logic controllers and select and use appropriate equipment, tools, and methods. This course provides you with the essential knowledge and skills to combine theory and practice to solve engineering problems in PLC projects.

PLC basic skills and knowledge

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Sufficient (1): You have basic knowledge, terminology and teamwork skills, but you don't know how to use those resources together to solve problems. Figuring out a complex whole is challenging.

Satisfactory (2): You have basic knowledge, terminology and teamwork skills, but using them to solve problems is challenging.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good (3): You know how to work as a team member in a large PLC project. Your skills are needed and used to implement the project.

Very good (4): You are a key part in solving the project's challenges thanks to your vision and technical know-how.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent (5): You play a key role in promoting the project and are able to produce innovative and creative solutions to challenges.
