Objective

The aim of the course is increasing your understanding of the methods used in child welfare work and their practical application.

Research-based development and innovation competence

Intended learning outcomes:

You apply and evaluate methods and tools used in the operating environment of child welfare. You act professionally and dialogically in interactive situations and are able to reflect critically on your actions.

You use both research evidence and experience-based information in a client-centric manner, drawing on the methods and tools of child welfare. You produce and analyse information using these methods with the aim of promoting clients’ well-being.

Content

The core content of the course includes child and family-oriented methods and tools used in child welfare work and their practical application. Among other things, the course examines a dialogical approach, reflection, resource and solution orientation as well as evaluation.

Qualifications

Understanding the principles and values of child welfare as well as knowledge of the child welfare processes of individual children and families.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

You are able to describe and evaluate the methods and tools of child welfare and their use in client work. You are able to describe reflectiveness as part of your professional actions.
