Objective

Meaning
You will learn the principles of acceptance and commitment therapy and practice applying those skills in the guidance where the focus is to promote wellbeing and life skills. You are capable to reflect your skills to your own professional competence.

Goal
After the course you are aware of how to apply the principles of acceptance and commitment therapy in supporting one´s wellbeing and life skills. You are capable to build professional relationship as an counsellor. You recognize one´s individual needs and are capable to give feedback to the person you consel based to acceptance and commitment therapy.

Content

Theretical principles of acceptance and commitment therapy and how to apply them in promoting wellbeing and life skills. Evaluation of your own practice and feedback.

Qualifications

Student has a command of professional and ethical principles of social services and health care. He/she is familiar with councelling clients/ patients in his/her proefessional field. Students knows how to apply professional knowledge and methods of their own area.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Passed. You know the principles of acceptance and commitment therapy and you are able to apply this knowledge when guiding the persons in the wellbeing program in client centered and goal oriented way. You are able to analyze the principles by reflecting your own professional competence and professional practices and by justifying the theory base.

Failed. You are not able to show your knowledge of the principles of acceptance and commitment therapy or the ability to apply the knowledge in guiding. You are not able to analyze or justify the principles when reflecting your own professional competence and professional practices.
