Objective
The students know the strategic aspects of production. In the area of goods production, they know the results of an individual enterprise and of network-based production, different production systems and their suitability for different situations, and the strategic development process. In the area of services production, they know the characteristics of the services, service strategies and their development process, and the basics of service production management. They also familiarize themselves with quality, economic bases of production, ERP and maintenance.
Content
Production strategies. Production targets, production methods and models for developing production in individual enterprises or networks. Services, service strategies, development of services, management of capacity and demand, management of waiting time, queuing models and capacity planning. Other themes include Lean and JIT, economic bases of production, ERP and maintenance.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Excellent (5): The student masters the essential knowledge and skills and can apply the knowledge acquired in a critical and innovative manner when solving demanding production management problems e.g. in designing a factory.
Very good (4): The student masters the essential knowledge and skills and can apply the knowledge acquired in a critical and innovative manner when solving production management problems e.g. in designing a factory.
Good (3): The student is familiar with the essential knowledge and skills of the course:
- knows the concepts and basic methods of production management
- can present basic alternatives in production management.
Satisfactory (2): The student is familiar with the basic knowledge and terminology of production management but in the application of the essential concepts the skills are still inadequate.
