Objective

The student is able to explain the theoretical concepts underpinning occupational therapy, specifically the occupational nature of human beings and their performance of occupations. The student is able to explain the relationship between occupational performance, health and well-being. The student is able to work according to the principles of client centered practice.

The student works together with clients activities of daily living.

The students appreciate and respect individual differences, cultural beliefs, customs and their influence on occupation and participation. The student can analyse occupations.
The students recognize different kind of working areas for OTs.

Content

Meeting and guiding a client.
Getting to know the work environments of an occupational therapist.
Activity analysis.
Exam and learning diaries.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Passed:
In the practical training situations the student is able to work according to the principles of client centered practice. The student can build a positive relationship with a client and with students. The student co-operate with others and appreciates and respects individual differences. The student can explain occupational therapy concepts. He/she analyses occupation according theories. The student understands occupational history and narration of life. He/she describe clients performance patterns. He/she do assignments according deadlines.
