Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
50% of the grade is based on group - and 50% based on personal evaluation. In group based evaluation the whole group gets the same grade based on their capabilities. The grade is composed on the following way:
Evaluation of the production in the demo meetings (50% of the grade, cumulative):
The demo meetings are arranged every time a production cycle is finished. BIT Lecturers evaluates the results from three different perspective: The production capability, delivery process usage and focus of the development (are we doing the right things?). The decision of the grade is made by the Lecturer in Charge based on the views from the evaluation panel.
The project implementation is evaluated according to the output of the group. The group chooses a production method/process that will be documented in a project plan and implemented during the production. The project produces all the documents and other material the selected process demands and these are returned as part of the project management evaluation. The source codes of the product are not attached. The group evaluates its actions against the plan in the postproduction stage and reports that evalution as a part of the final report of the project.
Personal evaluation (50% of the grade):
The evaluation of the personal expertise is done on a demonstration day. Each student forms a portfolio that highlights their competence and their personal development during the production. The aim of the portfolio is to show the skills that the student has achieved. The portfolio is evaluated from the following aspects:
1) The description of skills and development.
2) The integrity and structure of the content.
3) The choices are justified, and self-critique is included.
The portfolios are presented on the demonstration which have sessions for programming and content production (main tasks during Ticorporate Demo Lab). Secondary tasks (like testing) are also presented at the same time. Every student participates in only one session according to their main working field during the production. The decision for the grade is done by the person or persons that are evaluating the demonstration. The evaluation group always include a senior lecturer from the degree programme and that person makes the final decicion of the grade based on the comments from the other group members.
