Objective
Student has the knowledge of the basic terminology of data networks and the essential tasks and data forwarding principles of the most important network devices. Student understands the phases of data transmission and is able to analyze the data existing in the data networks. In addition, student can design and implement vital services to local area network.
Content
The different phases of data transmission and the principles of the most important network devices will be examined during the course. In addtition, analyzing data transmission occurring in the network as well as the design and implementation phase of the local area network will be familiarized.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Sufficient 1: Student has the knowledge of the basic terminology of the data networks and understands the data forwarding principles and tasks of network devices sufficiently. Student is able to decode the minority of the measured and analyzed contents of a datastream. In addition, student can design and implement the fundamental services and features of the local area network in sufficient level.
Satisfactory 2: Student has the knowledge of the basic terminology of the data networks and understands the data forwarding principles and tasks of network devices satisfyingly. Student is able to partly decode the measured and analyzed contents of a datastream. In addition, student can design and implement the fundamental services and features of the local area network in satisfactory level.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
Good 3: Student has the knowledge of the basic terminology of the data networks and understands the data forwarding principles and tasks of network devices well. Student is able to decode the essential parts of the measured and analyzed contents of a datastream. In addition, student can design and implement the fundamental services and features of the local area network in good level.
Very good 4: Student has the knowledge of the basic terminology of the data networks and understands the data forwarding principles and tasks of network devices very well. Student is able to decode the majority of the measured and analyzed contents of a datastream. In addition, student can design and implement the fundamental services and features of the local area network in very good level.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
Excellent 5: Student has the knowledge of the basic terminology of the data networks and understands the data forwarding principles and tasks of network devices excellently. Student is able to decode the measured and analyzed contents of a datastream without problems. In addition, student can design and implement the fundamental services and features of the local area network in excellent level.
