Objective

The students
¿ know the premises of client´s civil, social and welfare rights
¿ know the concepts of social guidance and counselling of clients as well as planning and implementation of each client's services according to the principles of social rights
¿ know the regulations pertaining to the rights and position of clients in social service and learns how to apply these regulations in the assessment of service needs and in operations of services
¿ have sufficient basic knowledge of social security and the tasks of social work that a Bachelor of Social Services takes part in
¿ have the basic skills and knowledge to use and apply information, especially in those tasks which are related to the social assistance security, social rehabilitation and service counselling in the field of adult and disabled social work and services.

¿ The legislation of Social security and social services
¿ The position of a client and legal protection
¿ Applying the Act on the Status and Rights of Social Welfare Clients in the client process and appeals
¿ The reasons for social assistance and rehabilitative occupational therapy
¿ Social counselling and service guidance in social work targeting adults and services for the disabled
¿ Providing information, counseling and guidance.

Qualifications

The students are able to assess their own actions from the viewpoint of professional ethics. The students demonstrate a command of the basics of interaction. The students are able to take part in professional interaction. The students have a broad knowledge of the service system that supports well being and overall social security and the legislation related to this system.

Excellent (5) The students can
¿ apply and draw conclusions about the realization of social and welfare rights in different client situations
¿ develop the realization of the principles of social welfare law in situations involving the guidance and counselling of clients
¿ suggest development targets in the consideration of decrees connected to the client¿s position and rights in service needs assessment.
¿ assess and develop a client relationship from the perspective of the legislation connected to income security, service guidance for social rehabilitation and services for the disabled, in particular.

Very Good (4) The students can
¿ apply and draw conclusions the realization of social and welfare rights in different client situations
¿ build up according to the the realization of the principles of social welfare law in situations involving the guidance and counselling of clients
¿ analyze the consideration of the decrees connected to the client¿s position and rights in service needs assessment
