Objective

The students can develop operation processes comprehensively. They master the use of more developed tools (QS9000 tools) and they can apply quality award criteria. They master the quality assurance of measurements and measuring systems. They are able to develop quality-, environmental-, and safety systems.

Content

Operation systems and system thinking, development of operations management system, quality assurance of measurements and measuring systems, use of more demanding quality tools (QS9000 tools: MSA especially RR tests, PPAP, AQAP), applying quality award criteria (EFQM, MBNQA).

Qualifications

The students have the technical basic abilities with which they can e.g. understand technical documentation and technical publications and they can apply them in their own work. In addition, the students have basic abilities of production technology and economy.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Very good (4-5): The student masters the essential knowledge and skills required to get the grade Good (3) and can apply the knowledge acquired in a critical and innovative manner to process development solutions.
Good (3):The student masters the essential knowledge and skills of the course:
- can develop operation processes comprehensively
- masters the more developed quality tools (QS9000 tools: MSA especially the RR tests, PPAP, AQAP) and can apply the quality award criteria to more complicated situations
- masters the quality assurance of measurements and systems
- can develop quality, environmental and safety systems in a production-centered manner utilizing the ideas and contents of the standards in question
Satisfactory (1-2): The student is familiar with the basic ideas and terminology but in applying the essential knowledge the skills are inadequate. The student can satisfactorily solve problems utilizing development processes and techniques.

-Assessment is based on the exam, assignments and laboratory work.
