Teaching methods

The implementation utilizes flipped learning, project-based learning, learning journals, and individual work.

In flipped learning, students independently familiarize themselves with the lecture topic. During the lecture, we dive deeper into the subject through discussions and practical exercises. Afterward, students complete independent tasks related to the topic and maintain learning journals.

In addition to self-study, students work in small groups to create a business idea (product/service). The group develops a business plan, assessing the idea’s business potential, profitability, and value to the customers.

Students receive feedback on their performance during interactive tasks, lectures, and workshops. Individual support is available during lectures.

Assessment of competence includes submitted assignments, knowledge tests, and a final exam.

Exam schedules

The exam is conducted independently at the Exam studio. You can register for the exam no earlier than 1 month after the start of the course. The exam can be retaken twice. The most recent grade will remain valid.

Vaihtoehtoiset suoritustavat

You have the right to apply for recognition of your studies if you have prior learning (e.g. university studies completed elsewhere) that can be accredited towards the degree you are currently completing.

The recognition of prior learning is possible in three primary ways: accreditation (replacement or inclusion), recognition of informal learning, and studification. More precise info: JAMK Degree Regulations, section 17.

Student workload

One credit corresponds to an average of 27 hours of work, which means that the load of two credits is approximately 54 hours.

- Contact lessons: 1h 45min * 4 = 6 hours
- Individual work and exercises: 44h 45min
- Final exam: 3 hours 15 minutes

Content scheduling

Lectures are held every two weeks.

Further information

The course grade is determined 100% by Exam.

In implementation, we follow Jamk's ethical principles related to the use of artificial intelligence. We will discuss this in more detail during the first lecture.
