Throughout the course, students engage in a combination of independent learning tasks and interactive, collaborative contact sessions featuring group discussions.

Objective

The purpose of the course
The purpose of the course is to understand the significance of self-leadership in various areas of life. You will learn to act purposefully based on your own motivational factors, develop self-awareness and well-being, manage your time and stress factors, and reflect on your personal development.

Competencies of the Course
Learning to learn: The student takes responsibility for both individual and group learning, and sharing acquired knowledge.
Professional functioning: The student can work constructively in a work community and promote their own and the team's well-being.

You will recognize the significance of self-leadership theories and tools. You understand the importance of goals and motivation related to your studies, work, and personal life. You identify the significance of self-awareness, self-esteem, and self-confidence in personal development. You recognize the aspects of physical, mental, emotional, social, and professional well-being. You identify the importance of time management and stress management in personal well-being. You understand the necessity and benefits of personal development.

Teaching methods

The course is organized around themes.
You will build a portfolio consisting of theme-based learning assignments, including a personal development plan.
Interactive introduction to the themes and learning assignments.
Group discussions and peer learning.
Independent study.
Peer feedback.
Self-reflection.

During the course, you will receive guidance and feedback as follows:
Introductions to the themes and learning assignments.
Guidance of group discussions.
Peer-to-peer discussions and peer feedback.
Personal feedback on the portfolio.

Exam schedules

The theme-specific learning assignments are completed and submitted during the course.
Students participate in group discussions according to the course schedule.
The personal portfolio is submitted at the end of the course.

You understand the necessity and benefits of personal development. You can take responsibility for your actions, consider others, and evaluate what you have learned. Your reporting is consistent but contains some language and reporting guideline deficiencies. There is room for improvement in adhering to given deadlines.

Satisfactory 2

You are familiar with the basic theories and tools of self-leadership. You understand the significance of goals and motivational factors related to your studies, work, and personal life. You recognize the importance of self-awareness, self-esteem, and self-confidence in personal development. You identify the aspects of physical, mental, emotional, social, and professional well-being.
