Objective

The student is able to utilize knowledge of public health and health inequalities (causes, backgrounds and trends)to a development of promotion of public health.

The student can apply evidence-based knowledge and appropriate methods to identify and assess lifestyles and risk factors affecting public health, and to implementation of early intervention models and prevention.

The student can focus health promotion activities, in improving chronic illness care, in a manner that generates health benefits for individuals, communities and the entire population.

Content

-The health and well-being of the population, and any factors and future challenges related to them.
- The trends of public health as challenges to the development of health care and social services as well as advance nursing practice.
- National and international strategies, action plans and recommendations in the promotion of public health and the prevention of non-communicable diseases
- Lifestyles that degrade public health, risk factors and the methods for screening and identifying them.
- Health-related functional capacity and health coaching

In the context of the learning tasks, the student utilises information on the public health and health risk factors, as well as related challenges, and applies essential national action plans and appropriate methods, along with presenting development ideas. The student can locate relevant information and apply it on a descriptive level to workshop activities and the subject matter of the learning tasks.

3 (Good)
In the context of the learning tasks, the student utilises a diverse range of information regarding the health of the population and health risk factors, and can provide explanations as to their meanings and trends as well as the related challenges. The student applies national action plans and appropriate methods, along with presenting development ideas. The student can retrieve relevant international and national information, assess it and apply it to the workshop activities and the subject matter of the learning tasks.

In the content of the learning tasks, the student applies a diverse range of information regarding the health of the population and health risk factors. The student considers the meaning and trends of the information, as well as the related challenges, in an analytical and critical manner. The student applies international and national action plans and appropriate methods, along with viewing the development methods from a variety of angles. The student is capable of finding a wide range of multidisciplinary international and national information that is based on evidence, and applying this information to workshop activities and the subject matter of the learning tasks in a critical and development-oriented manner.

Qualifications

Expertise achieved in Bachelor Degree in nursing/midwifery/public health nursing education concerning prevention and care of non-communicable diseases.
