Purpose of the course
You learn the purpose and significance of basic principles in service management and monitoring. You learn to design and implement an entity of service management and monitoring in an IT environment.

You understand the concepts and techniques of service management and monitoring, and you know how to apply them in practical environments.

Content

The course goes through the principles of service management and monitoring (Uptime, SLA) and essential techniques (CMDB/IPAM, SNMP, WMI, logging, telemetrics). The student applies the learned substance in a practical learning environment.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Sufficient 1: The student masters sufficiently the principles of service management and monitoring and their techniques. The student is able to design and implement management and monitoring for one service.

Satisfactory 2: The student masters satisfactorily the principles of service management and monitoring and their techniques. The student is able to design and implement briefly management and monitoring for one service.

Good 3: The student masters the principles of service management and monitoring and the their techniques. The student is able to design and implement service management and monitoring on a basic level in the environment.
