Objective

Aim of the course:
The aim of the course is planning and completing an evidence-based occupational therapy process while drawing on independently acquired information and critically evaluated occupational therapy practice. The practical training focuses on the appropriateness and focus on occupation in the occupational therapy process as well as the perspectives of quality and development of occupational therapy services.

Learning Outcomes:
You know how to plan and complete a person-centered and activity-based occupational therapy intervention. You are able to use occupational therapy assessment methods and interpret their results. You know how to search for information independently, examine it critically and analyse and apply it to support your work, ensuring that the basis of the practical work is up-to-date and appropriate for the client. You are able to provide arguments for and convince others of the importance of human occupation and the impact of occupational therapy. You know how to work together with communities in order to promote their health and well-being, drawing on participation in meaningful occupation. You are able to evaluate the practice of occupational therapy critically and examine aspects related to the quality and development of occupational therapy services, taking the principles of sustainable development into account.

Content

Guided practical training in an occupational therapist's working environments, projects or placements that support an entrepreneurial work approach.
Written and digital learning assignments and guidance meetings relevant to the practical training content and intended learning outcomes. Multiprofessional case day

Qualifications

Theoretical knowledge of the different phases of the occupational therapy process and its implementation.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Pass
The student has completed a person-centered and activity-based intervention. The student has acquired information independently and diversely, examined it critically, analysed it and applied the information to support their work. The student has got to know at least one occupational therapy assessment method and gained experience in using it as well as been able to interpret its results. The student has worked in an activity-based manner appropriate for the client.

The student presents arguments to convince others of occupational therapy and the importance of human occupation. They have worked in networks aiming to promote health and well-being, drawing on participation in occupation. The student has examined the practice of occupational therapy critically from the perspective of service development and is able to take sustainable development principles into account in their work.
