Objective
The purpose is to strengthen your autonomous and independent health assessment and clinical decision-making skills. The course deepens your history taking skills and physical examination techniques needed to perform a safe, comprehensive patient assessment.
Competences: Learning to learn, Health assessment and direct clinical care
By the end of the course, you demonstrate advanced skills and knowledge in history taking and holistic clinical examination. You can make valid evidence-based conclusions about the client’s, patient’s state of health and illness by using anamnesis, clinical examination and, where applicable, laboratory tests as the basis for independent clinical decision-making (including differential diagnosis). You are able to acquire, critically assess and produce information from the perspective of different fields. You master the documentation of patient`s, client´s individual situation and assess the fulfillment of the goals of the care plan. You understand the limits of your area of responsibility and consult other experts if necessary. You can assess and develop your expertise diversely and in goal-oriented manner.

Student knows the methods of health status assessment and clinical examination. Student recognises changes in the client's, patient's state of health and can draw conclusions about the patient's state of health within the limits of his or her area of expertise and job description. Student recognizes the consulting needs of a multi-professional team. Student knows how to document findings regarding the patient's, client's state of health.

Student understands the key methods of health status assessment and clinical examination. Student recognises changes in the client's, patient's state of health and is able to draw conclusions about the patient's state of health within the limits of his or her area of expertise and job description. Student recognizes the consulting needs of a multi-professional team. Student describes findings regarding the patient's, client's state of health.

Student demonstrates good skills and knowledge in history taking and holistic clinical examination of different patient groups. Student recognises and analyses changes in the patient's, client's health status and can draw conclusions based on the researched information. Student compares differential diagnostic options and masters independent evidence-based decision-making. Student takes advantage of the consulting of a multi-professional team. Student documents the findings regarding the patient´s, client's state of health with justifications.

Student analyses changes in the health status of patients, clients of different ages and masters independent evidence-based decision-making even in unexpected situations. Student has differential diagnostic reasoning skills, and he or she considers and evaluates different treatment options. Student takes advantage of the consulting of a multi-professional team. Student documents the findings regarding the patient´s, client's state of health, justifies further actions and assesses the fulfillment of the goals of the care plan. Student evaluates and develops his or her expertise diversely and in goal-oriented manner.
