Objective

The students

¿ Ethics in child welfare
¿ Child welfare legislation
¿ Process of child welfare work
¿ Working methods and measures in non-institutional and in institutional child welfare settings
¿ Different forms of family work and the process
¿ Documentation in child welfare work

Qualifications

The students have familiarized themselves with the entity of Finnish social security policy and psychosocial service system for families. The students understand the connection between societal factors and everyday life. The students recognize preventive child welfare in society.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Excellent (5)
The student is capable of substantiating and assessing his or her method-related choices in an excellent manner. The student is capable of substantiating method-related choices in a critical manner. The student is capable of planning, executing and assessing child- and family-oriented methods in child welfare work in an excellent manner. In his or her written assignments, the student demonstrates an ability to describe, substantiate and analyse various subject area phenomena in a critical manner by way of personal reflection.
Very good (4)
The student is capable of substantiating and assessing his or her method-related choices. The student is capable of substantiating method-related choices in a critical manner. The student is capable of planning, executing and assessing child- and family-oriented methods in child welfare work.
