Objective

The students are able to work actively, and according to the ethical principles with the clients in their practical training. She is familiar with the provided social services, client work principles, as well as regulations, professional networks and working methods. The student can support as well as assist clients in their daily living activities. She develops her own interaction and work community skills.

Content

• practical work and studying in the units of social services and social care according to student's personal study plan
• familiarization with the operational social service system, client ship and use of services
• methods of client work
• assistance in daily living activities
• skills of interaction, self-assessment of client work skills and definition of own developmental challenges

Qualifications

The students know the basic theoretical and ethical principles in client work and social services.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Pass (S) The Students
• are able to name and describe the services produced by their practical placement organization
• are able to relate them to the whole amount of services in the municipality or provider´s company
• know, and are able to describe the main laws as well as edicts regulating the services
• know the main co-operation partners and forms of cooperation of the placement organization
• are able to present the principles of client work in the placement organization; the objectives, plans and working methods; they are able to practice them actively
• identify the customers' needs and resources, and they are able to take those into account in their own operations
• are initiative in carrying out social values and ethical principles in their work as well as keeping their promise of confidentiality in mind
• identify the expertise and know-how of the field as well as their own professional development and goals.
