Objective

After completing the course, the student will be able to: Define what health literacy means and identify the factors that influence it. Explain how an organization promotes health literacy and suggest ways to enhance it. Identify known factors and actions that promote brain health. Explain the connection between health literacy and brain health. Critically assess the comprehensibility, reliability, and usability of written, oral, and online information related to brain health and memory services. Apply communication methods that support health literacy to enhance the understanding and utilization of information. Utilize principles of effective communication methods in lifestyle guidance that promotes brain health. Use evidence-based information to implement brain health-promoting practices and to plan, execute, and develop person-centered memory services.

SCHEDULED ONLINE STUDY The schedules for the scheduled online teaching can be found in the timetable at https://lukkarikone.seamk.fi/. Timetables are published for the next six weeks. The first six weeks of autumn are published by Midsummer and the first six weeks of spring by Christmas. Timetables may be subject to changes.

Teaching methods

The study also includes independent work online. The student familiarizes themselves with the theoretical material, completes online assignments / practice project / exam according to the given instructions. Student workload
