In this course, you will understand the nature of professional tasks in the field and learn to use your judgment in decision-making. You will develop general workplace skills and learn to assess and recognize your own capabilities. The course equips you with the ability to understand health, safety, and legal issues in the application of technology, as well as the social and environmental impacts of technical solutions. You will also learn to select and use appropriate equipment, tools, and methods, and to combine theory and practice to solve technical problems.
The specific contents of the practical training depend on the work placement. In addition to professional learning, the student gains general working life skills as well as organizational and social skills.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed
The student has completed the practical training in full length and has demonstrated that they understand the essential work tasks of the field and master working life skills. This assessment is based on the practical training tutor's visit at the work placement, discussions with the student, practical training tutor and employer. The student identifies and is able to assess their own professional strengths and targets for development which the student has presented in the practical training documentation.
