In this course you will learn the theory gynecological nursing

After completing the course, you will understand and be able to justify the factors related to the safe encounter of women and their families.
You will be able to identify, assess and anticipate factors, risks and dysfunctions that contribute to the sexual health of a woman and her family based on evidence.
You will know and be able to evaluate the principles and empowerment-based methods of sexual health promotion.
You will be able to analyze empowerment-based process thinking and be able to make evidence-based decisions in planning and evaluating the multi-professional midwifery work of a woman and her family.
You will know and be able to justify the key midwifery interventions and methods of helping women with gynecological issues.

Relationship and sexology
Promoting sexual and reproductive health

Qualifications

The student masters the contents of anatomy and physiology as well as pharmacology and medicine related to the above mentioned nursing studies.
The student masters the methods of health promotion, internal medicine, mental health, substance abuse and crisis management, acute, operative nursing, family and pediatric nursing.
The student knows the principles of evidence-based decision making.

Teaching methods

In the course, you study gynecological care and promotion of sexual health. Gynecology nursing work is carried out in small groups, where you actively participate in three dialogue training sessions. You prepare for dialogue training independently using the Moodle online learning environment. At the end of your studies, you demonstrate your skills in an online exam.
You study the promotion of sexual health through sexology lectures and by planning, implementing and reporting the teaching situation related to sexual health. At the end of the course, you deepen and expand your skills with expert lectures on midwifery.
